How Many Portions will my Cake Serve?

When planning a celebration cake it's worth knowing how many portions your cakes will serve, We have put together this handy table to help guide you when deciding the sizes of your cakes.

Cut a round cake across the centre, taking out the portions, then the two halves can be pushed back together, keeping the cake fresh!

Do not keep a decorated cake airtight as the icing will go soft.  Simply place a piece of clingfilm across the cut cake, leaving the icing exposed to the air.

The following table is based on a fruit cake portion of 1”sq and sponge portion 2”x1”.
