Cakepops are simply cakes on sticks. Easy to make, they are basically cake crumbs mixed with frosting, shaped, dipped in chocolate and decorated!
Any flavour of cake can be used – vanilla, chocolate, coffee, lemon, carrot, red velvet etc. Just mix with a frosting of your choice. A mixture of cream cheese and icing sugar is ideal but a less sweet option is cream cheese on its own. The crumbs can also be combined with buttercream (a mixture of butter and icing sugar).
Candy melts are a very convenient coating and are available in many different colours, or they can be mixed together to create a whole kaleidoscope of additional colours. There are three main flavours – vanilla, chocolate and mint. Click here to see the full range of candy melts.
After coating the cakepops, use your imagination to decorate! The easiest way is to just add sprinkles – click here to see the range we have. Sugar flowers or sugarpaste decorations using cutters or moulds are other options. You could also shape your cakes to create faces, animals, cupcakes or fruits etc. - the sky is the limit!
These delicious mini treats are perfect for parties – for children or adults! They can be wrapped in a clear cellophane bag and tied with an attractive ribbon to give as a gift. Click here to see the cellophane bags that can be used for this.
