Step 1

Spread a thin layer of buttercream onto the top of each cupcake.

Split the buttercream into smaller amounts, and add colour to each with Colour Splash food colour gels.

Step 2

Place each colour into a piping bag fitted with a ruffle nozzle. If you are using just one or two colours, fit an adaptor into the bag, and simply change the nozzles for different ruffle effects.  (Note: The nozzles 403 and 864 are too large to fit into this adaptor).

Step 3

Practice piping on a board with each nozzle before piping onto the cupcakes. You can then get creative with your design for each cupcake. If wished, add two colours into the piping bag for a two tone effect.

Add dragees or sprinkles to enhance.
