what cake board do I need?

If you bake a lot of cakes then you can save money by buying our bulk packs of cake boards in quantities of five per pack. Cut Edge Cake Cards are 1mm thick and feature a silver finish only on the top of the board, with the plain cardboard visible around the 'cut-edge' (hence the name) These lightweight cake cards are best suited for use with delicious gateaux, light sponge cakes and cream cakes. Available in round and square sizes, they can be purchased as singles and also in bulk packs of 50 & 100.

Single Thick Cake Cards are 2mm thick and feature a silver finish on top and around the edge the cards. Again, these cards are ideal for gateaux, light sponge cakes, and cream cakes. They can also be used to add stability between sponges in stacked celebration cakes. Available in round and square sizes, they can be purchased as singles and also in bulk packs of 25 to save on cost.

Double Thick Cake Cards are 3mm thick and look the same as their Single Thick counterparts. They too can be used for gateaux, light sponge cakes, and cream cakes. Additionally, they can also be used to add stability for multi-tiered cakes. Available in round, square and rectangular sizes, they can be purchased as singles and also in bulk packs of 25.

Silver Cake Hardboards are 3mm thick and manufactured using a reinforced card, with a silver finish on top and around the edge. Strong and robust, these cake boards can support any type of cake, including heavy fruit cakes. They provide superb strength and stability for large multi-tiered cakes. Available in round, square and rectangular sizes, they can be purchased as singles and also in bulk packs of 5 or 10.

Cake Drum Boards are 12mm thick and are the most popular base for professionally presenting celebration and wedding cakes. Their top surface and edges are foil wrapped, which as standard is silver coloured but coloured cake drum boards are also available in pink, blue, green, red, purple, gold, black and multi-coloured patterns. Cake Drums offer the strongest support for whole cakes, and they can be decorated to match your cake by covering them with icing and finishing with a 15mm cake ribbon around the edge.
