Make a splash with the FMM mermaid tail tappit, perfect for creating sugar toppers for any mermaid themed cupcakes.

For this, we used:

Step 1:

Bake cupcakes in Blue marble baking cups and allow to cool completely.

Mix your buttercream and divide into three equal portions. Colour your buttercream portions with Colour Splash gel to a pastel shade as follows, 1 in Blue, 1 in Violet and 1 in Pale Pink.

Step 2:

Once mixed put each colour into a piping bag. Install the No 10 star nozzle into an empty piping bag then place your three buttercream colour inside the bag with the nozzle. Try to get all of the buttercream bags as level as possible inside the bag see picture for reference.

Step 3:

Pipe swirls on your cupcake, you should get all three colours coming out equally if not find the colour that pipes the most and gently tug it backward allowing more of the other colours forward.

Step 4:

Take out your modeling paste and divide into three portions. Using your Colour Splash colours, colour your modelling paste portions to pastel shades as follows, 1 in blue, 1 in violet and 1 in pale pink.

Step 5:

Once your modeling paste portions are coloured roll each colour into sausages. Line all the colour up and push together. Roll all three colours into a sausage then twist. Repeat this a few times then roll out the marbled colours.

Step 6:

Using your FMM mermaid tail tappit cut out mermaid tales. Allow these tail to dry for sometime. Once dry place the Mermaid tails into the buttercream standing up.

To finish your cupcakes lightly sprinkle your cupcake with your Purple cupcakes Mermaid mix.
