Step 1

Apply a reasonably thick layer of frosting around the sides of the 8” cake and smooth with the large smoother. Add more frosting to the top of the cake and smooth. Also cover around the board edge.

Place dowel rods into the 8” cake, cutting off flush with the surface of the cake.

Repeat the frosting for the 6” cake and carefully place on top of the base cake.

Step 2

Temper the white chocolate. This then needs to be coloured using the Colour Splash powder colours, one at a time, mixed in to a small amount of chocolate. This will enable you to keep the bulk of the chocolate at the correct temperature whilst in use. We have used 6 colours, but you can vary the colours as wished.

Step 3

With the first amount of chocolate, place in drops on baking parchment or other non stick surface, and spread out, in one direction, with the back of a spoon. (If you have a wide flat brush you could use this instead). There is no need to be specific, and all the pieces can be different lengths! Allow to set for an ½ hour, or to speed up, place in the fridge to set.

Repeat the process with the other colours. Melt a little more white chocolate and use to stick the shapes onto the sides and top of the cake. (You could also use some frosting for this).
