Step 1

Please Note: This step by step guide is for one cupcake only.

Colour your buttercream with Colour Splash gel Lime. Add the piping nozzle to the piping bag then fill the bag with frosting.


Step 2

From your 100g bar of Cake star white modelling paste weigh out and colour with Colour Splash gels as listed 20g for latte, 20g for lime, 10g Pistachio, 10g Green leaving the remainder white.

Step 3

To pipe the buttercream Dino onto your cupcake start with a single piped line down the centre of the top, fill both sides then pipe over the top of these lines with the same technique.

Step 4

Roll out all your modelling paste colours, including white. Cut and emboss three large stars from Latte, from the triple circle cutter, two tiny circles in white and one of each size circle in Green and Pistachio. Put these to aside and allow to dry.

Step 5

Create the head: Roll the Lime Modelling paste into a ball then form the ball into an egg shape. Using a ball tool from your Cake Star cake decorating kit gently smooth the middle of the egg shape towards the large end to form a nose.

Step 6

With a ball tool indent the nostrils. Using a veining tool mark out the smile and finish off the end of the smile with the smiley tool as pictured.

Step 7

Gather the two small white circles and dot the centres with the black food pen. Add these to the head with edible glue.

Step 8

Allow head to dry for a little while then gently push it into the buttercream on your cupcake.

Step 9

Gather the large latte stars and cut two removing the bottom to point from the star. With the remaining star cut in half and then cut the left hand point only in half.

Step 10

Push the triple pointed stars into the buttercream of your cupcake either side of the centre piped line towards the head.

Step 11

Push the cut off two pointed stars into the buttercream behind the last then hang the remaining star over the edge of the baking case to form a tail.

Step 12

To finish add the green and pistachio spots to the body. This how too and its weight are for one cupcake only. To make more just duplicate the recipe list to suit.
