Squires Kitchen Sugar Florist Paste
Squires Sugar Florist Paste is one of the UK's favourite ready to use flower pastes. Available in a wide range of floral-inspired colours, such as soft lilac, cyclamen and candy blue, these pastes have been popular with professional sugarcrafters for over 20 years.
These pastes can be rolled ultra-thin, and are very pliable which allow to you create delicate and realistic sugar flowers and foliage. They can also be used to great effect with cutters, moulds, leaf and petal veiners and embossers. The handy resealable foil pack allows you to save any unused paste for your next project and it is freeze/thaw stable if you need to store leftover paste for up to three months.
How To Use
- Knead the required amount of sugar florist paste until pliable.
- If rolling, to model flower petals or leaves, use a non-stick board dusted sparingly with sifted cornflour or greased with a little vegetable fat.
- Models can be made by hand or by pressing the paste into a mould or texture mat.
To colour, use a high quality food colouring gel during the kneading stage, or dust completed flowers and leaves with powdered food colouring after modelling.
After sculpting, leave models to harden in a warm, dry place.
What is Sugar Florist Paste?
Made with Sugar and starch (and other ingredients) Florist Paste is similar to modelling paste, and fondant icing, but it can be rolled much finer than either of these and, importantly, it dries hard so sculptures and sugar flowers hold their shape. Sugar Florist Paste is ideal for creating long lasting, detailed, models, bows, and flowers for Wedding Cakes and extra special celebration cakes.
We would not recommend eating dried Sugar Florist Paste.
