With so many choices for cupcake cases out there, it can be hard to know which one is best. To help fellow cupcake enthusiasts along, I thought I’d try something a little different this week and put some of our cases to the test.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved making pretty cupcakes. I would take my time topping them off with huge swirls of colourful buttercream and adding cute little sugarettes. But, despite my best decorating efforts, more often than not I found myself feeling a little let down by my cupcake cases. I would spend ages in the supermarket looking at all the beautiful, vibrant designs and picking out my favourite. But as soon as I put them in the oven, the cases always seemed to fade, go greasy and lose their shape.

However, the brilliant Baked with Love range has since come to my rescue. These high quality cases are each lined with a protective foil that acts as a barrier. This, in turn, makes them stronger and completely greaseproof, ensuring their colours never fade and my cupcakes can finally stay beautiful from start to finish.

To really highlight the differences, I put the cases to the test. I split my usual cupcake mixture between some Baked with Love cases and supermarket-bought cases. I baked them all in the same oven, in the same tin, at the same time. In fact, the only thing that wasn’t the same was the outcome.

After being let down by supermarket-bought cupcake cases before, I was really impressed the first time I tried the Baked with Love range. Not only are the cases a fantastic size but their high quality material means they don’t peel away in the same way many other cases do, and are so durable they don’t lose their shape at all.

After I put them to the test, the results were pretty clear. Despite the polka dot cases not being the cheapest option available in my local supermarket, they still came out the oven greasy and shapeless. Their once-bright colour had dulled and the vibrant pattern that had made me pick them up in the first place had lost its appeal. Not the worst result I’ve had with supermarket cases, but, by no means good enough.

Luckily, my beautiful Baked with Love cases were a whole other story. Aside from the freshly baked cupcakes that now filled them, there was quite literally no difference between the cases before and after they’d been in the oven. No grease, no peeling and no change whatsoever in their brightness or colour.

Even from the sides, the Baked with Love cases were visibly brighter and seemingly more durable than their rival. As the photo shows, my supermarket cases were pretty transparent and their colour had dulled in comparison.

I knew the Baked with Love cases were good but, I’ll be honest, I didn’t realise just how good. Aside from being super practical, the patterns are all so bright and pretty, I can think of a use for every design they have to offer. What’s more, they’re fantastically affordable starting at just 70p per pack.

Thanks to Baked with Love, my troubles of peeling-away, colour-fading cases are well and truly behind me. Now all I have to worry about is perfecting my gravity-defying cupcake swirls!

Why not try out Baked with Love and see if they can boost your baking too. After all, the proof is in the pudding cupcakes 🙂
