The Easter holidays are a great time to get the kids involved in a bit of colourful baking. Not every recipe out there is suitable for small hands so we’ve put together some fun ideas that your little ones will be easily be able to help out with this Easter.

Our Easter egg moulds mean the kids can make their very own tasty eggs this Easter! Simply paint some tempered white chocolate into two moulds and pop them in the fridge. Once set, brush melted chocolate sparingly around the edge of one half and push them together to create a full egg. Once you’ve created as many eggs as needed (and laid down a protective table cover) the decorating fun can begin!

The edible Colour Splash Brush On Pens are perfect for kids to get as creative as they want! Simply twist the end of each pen for a very controlled application of colour and a great mess-free alternative to standard brushes and paints. And once they’ve finished their creations they can tuck into their little works of art!

Alternatively, you can have plenty of decorating fun with the kids by making a batch of easy Easter biscuits. Once your yummy eggs are baked, give the kids some Colour Splash Paints and cookie decorations to turn the biscuits into colourful Easter eggs.  Of course you could use biscuit cutters of any size to bake and decorate - they are always great for little hands to handle.

The beauty of cupcakes is they don’t have to be perfectly neat to look great. Kids always love getting creative with the decorations so give them plenty of sprinkles and toppers to use. Why not hand out to others as a special homemade gift from the family or hide them in the Easter egg hunt? They’re sure to beat any store bought sweet treats!

Salt dough decorations are great fun for kids to decorate and hang around the house over Easter. They may not be edible but do make a fantastic family activity over the holidays and a great way to bake without sugar! Simply cut out fun shapes with using cutters then bake, allow to cool and decorate for some adorable Easter decorations!

Nest cakes are a classic favourite that always goes down well at Easter time and, with no need for an oven, can be made with the help of little bakers of all ages! All you need to make these lovely treats is some chocolate, shredded wheat and colourful mini eggs – easy yet delicious!

Marshmallow pops are both easy and fun to make for kids of all ages. Put some plain white marshmallows on colourful cake pop sticks then fill some bowl with sprinkles and melted chocolate and let the whole family create their own colourful treats!

If you’re looking for something a little healthier to make with the kids, why not make a fun fruit platter? The Hungry Caterpillar is a really popular children’s party theme at the moment and great fun to recreate using their favourite fruits. Get them to help you make the chopped fruit into fun shapes – why not make the fruit even more colourful with our vibrant Colour Splash Paints!
